Motivation and Goal Setting

What is important to remember that motivation is caused by a person's desire as well as what they value and what they believe in which provides them with the drive to succeed in the actions that they take and the life that they lead? It is important therefore that a person needs to identify their value, beliefs and desires which will help with them with their motivation and goal setting achievements.

By being able to identify these a person will then be able to recognize their strengths and weaknesses and these will help them to achieve their goals which they have set for themselves.

However an important thing to remember is that when setting goals you should base them on your abilities as well as the circumstances that you are in. Only then will motivation help you with achieving what you set yourself.

1. It is important that you do not set yourself constraints and only do those things that you know are possible. So be realistic about what you can achieve when setting your goals.

2. You need to be flexible so that you will be able to anticipate any unforeseen occurrences that may happen and allow yourself a way to work around them.

3. It is vital that you have a target in mind at all times when setting your self goals in order that you know when you have reached it.

4. Keep your control. When setting yourself goals they should all times be based on your own values, beliefs and desires and do only those which you can control the outcome of. So don't attempt to do anything where you know at the end of the day neither your motivation and goal setting skills will be able to help you.
