The affect of your personality on your motivation

Certainly just how much motivation a person has will often depend a lot on their actual personality. In fact you will find that a person's personality does have a large impact on just what motivates their lives. In this article we hope to show just how much motivation and personality are connected.

Basically there are three kinds of personality which seem to connect to the motivation of what we do and who we would like to be or become.

Firstly there is the type of personality where the need for power is uppermost. These are very strong willed people who like to be in charge of situations. Such people will be motivated to have more control and power as well as the prestige that goes with such a position and will often not actually be good at the job they do. They often find themselves pushing other people to do things that they would not normally do.

Next we have the person who has the type of personality who needs to excel at everything they do. Such people will usually spend as much time as possible striving to succeed at everything they do or try. But in most cases they will do the tasks which are much simpler and easier to do rather than the much harder difficult tasks instead. Often the motivation of these people is that they are able to achieve the task that they have been set on their own using only their own skills.

As you can see from above there is a very strong connection between a person's personality and how they are motivated to do things in their lives. For many motivation and personality will often work hand in hand but for others the personality they have may actually affect how they are motivated and how that affects the people around them both in their work and private lives.
